Eliminating Friction: How I Designed a Seamless Luxury Car Booking Experience

Miles & Miles provides a premium car hire service in London, specialising in the rental of high-end vehicles. Their service is designed to offer clients maximum convenience and flexibility, whether through delivering the car directly to their chosen location or allowing collection from one of their designated sites. With a focus on luxury, quality, and customer satisfaction, Miles & Miles ensures every hire is a seamless and tailored experience.

Currently clients must book through the website, relying heavily on communication with the sales team, which creates friction points and often leads to drop-offs. Furthermore, if a client’s preferred car is unavailable, they encounter a dead end, adding to the problem. To address these challenges, Miles & Miles aims to develop an app that streamlines the booking process and enhances the overall customer experience. Miles & Miles want a fresh, clean look for the app using their brand colours.

Background

The main challenge is to make sure that the user flow addresses the pain points and effortlessly allows customers to book. Furthermore, considering the limited fleet of cars, the app should encourage customers to choose an alternative car if their desired one isn’t available.

The challenge

I began by creating a user flow mapping out the stages a customer would go through to complete a booking, while addressing key pain points along the way.

Streamlining the Booking Process

Low Fidelity Wireframes

Using the user flow, I first created low-fidelity wireframes and prototyped them to validate the flow before committing to high-resolution wireframes.

What I learnt from this UX UI project

This project highlighted the importance of rapidly prototyping low-fidelity wireframes to quickly identify and resolve usability issues before committing significant time to high-fidelity designs
